You can install GCFI circuit breakers where it is required by code. Modelshave up to forty breaker spaces available for branch circuits.

EASY TO INSTALL
As simple as installing a nipple between your existing circuit breaker panel and the transfer panel. All wires between the breaker panel and the transfer panel can be in the same conduit without derating, if the nipple is not over 24" long.

NEAT APPEARANCE

RELIABLE
Full five year guarantee. Tested by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for 10,000 cycles, simulating the interlock mechanism going from normal utility power to generator, without showing any sign of wear. The test was equal to having a power outage everyday for over twenty-five years.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SWITCHES NEUTRALS IN MANUAL TRANSFER SWITCHES

Beginning January 2019, all portable generators used for temporary standby power would be required to have ground fault protection.

Manual transfer panels were to be manufactured with switched neutrals. If you hooked up this generator to the existing transfer switch, it would shut down the power from the generator.

Eylander Electric has been building manual generator transfer panels since 1998 with Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) label for switch neutrals. We build them with Square 'D' QO, Eaton Cutler Hammer BR and CH and Seimans circuit breakers. These can be purchased through a local electrical distributor.

We build two meter base combinations and two 200 amp whole house phase and three sub-panel types.

For existing manual transfer panels, we build a kit which will modify your existing manual transfer panel to have a switched neutral. This kit would only be needed if you have an existing generator panel.

SWN Device
If you have a manual generator transfer panel that was installed before 2019 and you now have a generator that doesn’t require a switched neutral, you are ok. When you get a new generator, you will then be required to get an adaptor for the switch neutral which we build.

Before, portable generators manufacturers were required to have all 120/240 volt portable generators ready for service by the year 2019 to have ground fault protection.

This requires a portable generator panel to have a switched neutral. Eylander Electric has been building these panels, approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) since 1998. We recommend that these be installed on any new installations.

If you have an existing transfer panel and you need a new portable generator which requires a switch neutral, we have panel tap is installed ahead of your transfer panel to provide a an adaptor kit which may solve your problem for your generator transfer panel.

GENERATOR SAVERS
If a generator shuts down for lack of fuel or is shut down when it is under load; it is subject to losing it's residual magnetism in the fields. If this occurs, then the generator will not produce electricity when the engine is restarted. The fields will have to be flushed with DC current to repolarize them. The Generator Saver will drop the load down stream from generator whenever there is a shut down, saving the residual magnetism in the generator fields.

Available In
  • 30 A 125 V - 3 WIRE
  • 30 A 125/230 V - 4 WIRE
  • 50 A 125/240 V - 4 WIRE
Generally, the generator has to be taken to a repair shop to have the fields flashed to re-energize the generator.

We build two sizes of generator savers: a 30 AMP model and a 50 AMP model.

How It Operates
  • Plug in the 30 AMP or the 30 AMP power cord from the generator
  • Press the start button located on the bottom of the generator saver to send the power to the transfer switch.
GENERATOR SAVER HISTORY AT EYLANDER ELECTRIC
Why did Eylander Eelectric begin to build generator savers?

Back in the 1990s, Spokane, WA had a power outage that lasted about a week. Every generator available was sold.

In a short time, the generators were brought back to the dealers because the engines would run but the generators would not produce electricity.

Over 100 generators were returned to the dealers.

We were contacted by one of our electrical distributors who sells our transfer switches to see if we knew why this was occurring. In our electric motor repair shop, we had been flashing the fields with 12 volts in generators to restore power to the generators. We then began to build generator savers.
